Huntley, son of [6016] John and Jane
(---) Huntley, was born 15 April 1654 in Boston (Suffolk) Massachusetts, and
died 24 May 1742 in Lyme (New London) Connecticut. He married 22 February
1675/76 in Lyme,
3009. Mary
Champion, who was born in 1651 in Saybrook (Middlesex) Connecticut and
died 10 December 1732 in Lyme, daughter of [6018] Henry
and Sarah (---) Champion.
Aaron was
baptized at the age of three on 27 October 1657 in the First Church of
Roxbury. He came to Lyme (formed on 13 February 1665) with his father
when he was 11 years old. He
served as a soldier in King Philip's War and had many occupations, including
constable, fence viewer, lister, pound keeper, packer (of beef and pork), and
surveyor. After his father's death he built a house on land given to him
by his father, and also helped his stepmother to manage his father's estate.
Aaron & Mary were the
parents of eight children:
i. JOHN HUNTLEY, born 24 November 1677
in Lyme, died there before 10 April 1750. He married 2 February 1698/99
in Lyme, Elizabeth Pearson, who was born 25 April 1677 in Rowley (Essex)
Massachusetts, daughter of Samuel and Dorcas (Johnson) Pearson. John
& Elizabeth were the parents of eleven children: (a) John
Huntley, married Lydia Robbins, one son, Hezekiah; (b) Elizabeth
Huntley; (c) Mary Huntley, married Joseph Alger, four children,
Benjamin, Joseph, Mary and Keturah; (d) Peter
Huntley, married
first, Mary Ransom, two children, Patience and Peter, married second, Sarah
Robbins, five children, Hannah, Lois, Sarah, Ezra and Jasper; (e)
Joseph Huntley, married first, Ruth Williams, four children, John, Marcy/Mary,
Lucy and Elizabeth, married second, Eunice (Welch) Sullard, seven children,
Susannah, Hannah, Joseph, Eunice, Martha, Abigail and David; (f)
Benjamin Huntley, married Lydia Beckwith, one son, Curtais; (g)
Lucy Huntley; (h) Samuel Huntley, married his first cousin,
Ruth Huntley, twelve children, Solomon, Hepsebeth, Benjamin, Molley, Ruth, Samuel,
Lemuel, Esther, Aaron, Hezekiah, Hepzibah and Solomon; (i) Lucy
Huntley; (j) Sarah Huntley; and (k)
Elizabeth Huntley.
ii. ELIZABETH HUNTLEY, born 16 March 1678/79
in Lyme, died before 1741. She married Matthew
Beckwith.
iii. AARON HUNTLEY, born 1 December 1680 in
Lyme, died there 26 September 1748. He married 27 July 1707 in Lyme,
Deborah DeWolf, who was born there 25 July 1690, and died after 26 September
1748, daughter of Stephen and Hannah (Jones) DeWolf. Aaron & Deborah
were the parents of eleven children: (a) Hannah

Phebe, Bethuel and Ama; (h) Esther
Huntley, married William

Reuben; (i) Nathan Huntley, married Lucy Smith, seven children,
Azuba, Rufus, Isaiah, Nathan, Luman, Russell and Elisha; (j)
Jemima Huntley, married Eber Lewis, one daughter, Lydia; and (k)
Timothy Huntley.
iv. DANIEL HUNTLEY, born 25 May 1682 in
Lyme, died there 14 January 1732/33. He married (as her first husband)
27 July 1720 in Lyme, Hannah Brown, who was born 27 April 1689 in Woburn
(Middlesex) Massachusetts, and died before 25 December 1745, daughter of John
and Elizabeth (Polley) Brown. Daniel & Hannah were the parents of
four sons: (a) Daniel Huntley, married Susannah Beckwith, six
children, Susannah, Daniel, Isaac, Isaac, Hannah and Jason; (b)
Jacob Huntley, married (as her first husband) Lydia Allen, six children,
Jacob, Deborah, Amos, Lydia, Ann and Miriam; (c) James
Huntley,
married Lucretia Smith, twelve children, Phineas, Reynold, Enoch, Irene
"Reny", Ira, Marvin, Anna, James, Seth, Elkanah, Silas and
Lucretia; and (d) Amos Huntley, married Phebe Mack, eleven
children, Martin, Elizabeth, Huldah, Phebe, Dan, Lovice, Azuba "Zubee", Amos,
Ruel, Lucy and Molly.

1684/85 in Lyme.

viii. SOLOMON HUNTLEY, born 31 May 1691 in
Lyme, died there 9 August 1712. He married (as her first husband) 13
February 1710/11 in Lyme, Ruth Merrow, who was born 5 April 1693 in Reading
(Middlesex) Massachusetts, daughter of Henry and Miriam (Brooks) Merrow.
Solomon & Ruth were the parents of one daughter: (a) Mary
Huntley, married Robert Latimer, four sons, Deming, Lemuel, Reuben and
Robert.
