95.  Mary Jane Fowler, who was born about 1831 in New York, and died 31 January 1897.

Loren & Mary Jane were the parents of at least two children:

ii.  BERTHA HUNTLEY, born about 1864, and was living with her older, married sister, Ermina, at the time of the 1880 census.

189.  Hannah Wheeler, who was born about 1810.

Leonard was a farmer.

ii.  EZRA HUNTLEY, born 18 August 1830 in Canandaigua (Ontario) New York.  He married Mary E. Sanborn, who was born 29 June 1826 in Louisville, New York, daughter of Abraham and Sarah (Dearborn) Sanborn.

iii.  THOMAS LEONARD HUNTLEY, born 9 July 1833 in Canandaigua.  He married Louise (---).

iv.  LYDIA HUNTLEY, born 16 April 1839 in Bath (Summit) Ohio.  She married 25 January 1857, Horatio Sanborn.

v.  JANE HUNTLEY, born 9 May 1839 in Bath.

376.  Asher Huntley, son of [752] Ezekiel and Naomi (Tiffany) Huntley, was born 1 March 1767 in Lyme (New London) Connecticut and died 3 March 1849 in Granger (Medina) Ohio.  He married 14 November 1792 in Colebrook (Litchfield) Connecticut,

377.  Betsey Wilder Tiffany, who was born 25 February 1772 in Hartland (Hartford) Connecticut, and died 16 February 1837 in Bath (Summit) Ohio, daughter of [754] Consider and Sarah (Wilder) Tiffany.

On 17 April 1782 Asher was serving with his father at station #72 on the Brigantine General Green.  By 1804 Asher and Betsey were living in Bristol, Connecticut, when his father's estate was being divided in Lyme.  His brother Ezra was living in Stonington, Connecticut, and successfully sued Asher for his share of the estate.

Asher & Betsey were the parents of five children:

i.  ASHER HUNTLEY, born 25 August 1793 in Hartland, died 27 November 1863 in Hinckley (Medina) Ohio.  He married (as his first wife) 10 May 1817 in Hartland, Phebe Hitchcock, who was born 23 December 1792 in Hartland and died 15 June 1838 in Naples (Ontario) New York, daughter Joshua and Mary (Munson) Hitchcock.  Asher & Phebe were the parents of nine children:  (a) Mary L. Huntley, married William C. Gillet, one daughter, Minerva, married Rufus French;  (b) Nathan M. Huntley, married Clarissa Blakeslee, married Sarah J. Roberts;  (c) Leonard W. Huntley, married Lucinda Brainard;  (d) Asher Bronson Huntley, married Susan M. Brooks;  (e) Sarah T. Huntley(f) Henry Williams Huntley(g) Levi Austin Huntley, married Elizabeth R. King;  (h) Sarah Louisa Huntley, married  Jacob H. Borgardas, one daughter, Rosilee, married John Bigelow, one son, Park C.;  (i) Chauncey Elizur Huntley, married Sarah J. (Roberts) Huntley, widow of his older brother, Nathan M. Huntley.  Asher married (as his second wife) 5 March 1840 in (Medina) Ohio, Rosannah (---) Willey, who was born about 1795 and died 22 February 1868.

iv.  LEVI HUNTLEY, born 12 August 1801 in Bristol (Ontario) New York, died 12 March 1846 in (Hillsdale) Michigan.  He married 12 November 1825, Lucina Atwell, who was born 9 August 1804.  They were the parents of ten children:  (a) Alonzo B. 752.  Capt. Ezekiel Huntley, son of [1504] David and Mary (Munsell) Huntley, was born before 4 April 1731 in Lyme (New London) Connecticut, and died there 25 July 1783.  He married (as his second wife) 8 November 1759 in Lyme,

753.  Naomi Tiffany, who was born 28 December 1737 in Lyme, and died 25 July 1821, daughter of [1506] Consider and Naomi (Comstock) Tiffany.

Between 11 May and 10 December 1775, Ezekiel was enlisted in Capt. David F. Sill's Company in Col. Samuel H. Parson's 6th Connecticut Regiment, and marched to Boston and remained in Roxbury until discharged.  He married (as his first wife) about 1756 in Lyme, Mary Avery, who was born before 4 May 1729 in Groton (New London) Connecticut, and died in September 1757 in Lyme, daughter of Nathaniel and Rachel (Yeomans) Avery.  Ezekiel & Mary were the parents of two daughters:  (a) Abigail Huntley, married Martin Abel, three children, Polly, Henry and Martin;  and (b) Hannah Huntley, married Dan Chadwick, nine children, Molley, Dan, Elias, Lois, Elias, Elizabeth, Abigail, Anna and Dan.  Ezekiel and his family lived in Lyme on property given to him by his grandfather, Aaron Huntley.  Ezekiel was fifty-one years old when he served with his son Asher on the ill-fated April-May 1782 first trip of the brigantine General Green, under Capt. Gideon Olmsted.  The ship made its way down the flooded Connecticut River, out into Long Island Sound, and the open Atlantic, and when east of the Nantucket Shoals met the British privateer ship Virginia, which soon overpowered them.  All 83 men were taken prisoner and sent to prison ships in New York harbor, where some died.  Some came home, including Ezekiel, who died in Lyme a few days after his return.  Naomi remained a widow for 38 years until her own death.

Ezekiel & Naomi were the parents of eight children:

i.  LOIS HUNTLEY, born before 18 September 1764 in Lyme, died 2 February 1844.  She married 11 May 1780 in East Haddam (Middlesex) Connecticut, Zachariah/Uriah Sanford, who died before 1790, son of Samuel and Deborah (Matson) Sanford.  Lois & Zachariah were the parents of four children:  (a) Elizabeth "Betsey" Sanford, married Simon Lay Eli;  (b) Elias Sanford(c) Lois Sanford, married Alpheus MacIntyre;  and (d) Zachariah/Uriah Sanford, married Mary P. Manter.

ii.  RUFUS HUNTLEY, born before 18 September 1764 in Lyme, died before 2 September 1778.

iii.  ELIAS HUNTLEY, born before 28 July 1765 in Lyme, died there 10 January 1783.

v.  NAOMI HUNTLEY, born about 1768 in Lyme, died 2 December 1840 in Sharon (Medina) Ohio.  She married Matthew Look.

vi.  EZRA HUNTLEY, born before 2 June 1771 in Lyme, died 13 April 1817 in North Stonington (New London) Connecticut.  He married (as her first husband) 29 December 1796 in Stonington (New London) Connecticut, Eunice Holmes, who was born there about 1779, and died 21 April 1832, daughter of John and Martha (Stanton) Holmes.  Ezra & Eunice were the parents of eight children:  (a) Ezra Huntley(b) Oliver Denison Huntley(c) Polly Ann Huntley, married George M. Crocker.

vii.  RUFUS HUNTLEY, born before 2 September 1778 in Lyme, died 24 April 1860 in (Medina) Ohio.  He married 22 December 1799 in Lyme, Polly Lay, who was born there 11 August 1781, and died 13 February 1870 in (Medina), daughter of Peter and Hepzibah (Peck) Lay.  Rufus & Polly were the parents of ten children:  (a) Elias Huntley(b) Charles Huntley(c) Uriah Huntley(d) Rufus Huntley(e) Louisa S. Huntley, married Delano P. viii.  EZEKIEL HUNTLEY, born before 21 May 1780 in Lyme, died 6 March 1853 in Granger (Medina) Ohio.  He married 8 September 1803 in Lyme, Ruth Miner, who was born there 4 December 1787 and died 12 December 1851 in Granger, daughter of Elisha and Amy (Way) Miner.  Ezekiel & Ruth were the parents of eight children:  (a) William Asher Huntley(b) Elias Sanford Huntley(c) Mary Miner Huntley, married Henry Ingraham;  (d) Eliza Ann Huntley, married Orrin Sibley, one unnamed son;  (e) Amy/Emma Way Huntley, married George Washington Hazen, four children, William Orlando, Richmond Pitt, George W. and Harriet A.;  (f) Ezra E. 1504.  David Huntley, son of [3008] Aaron and Mary (Champion) Huntley, was born 17 March 1687/88 in Lyme (New London) Connecticut, and died there 27 July 1738.  He married (as his first wife) 11 July 1711 in New London (New London) Connecticut,

1505.  Mary Munsell, who was born about 1695 in New London, and died 26 December 1737 in Lyme, daughter of [3010] Thomas and Lydia (---) Munsell.

David married (as his second wife) Joanna (---).  David resided in a home on about 48 acres of land (on Lyme Street in the village of Old Lyme) that he was given by his father, Aaron, and that had originally belonged to his grandfather, John.  In exchange David agreed to care for his parents in their old age.

David & Mary were the parents of eight children:

i.  DAVID HUNTLEY, born about 1717, probably in Lyme, died 31 August 1745 in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.  He married (as her first husband) 27 October 1742 in Lyme, Mary Tinker, who was born there 1 December 1724, daughter of Samuel and Jemima (Smith) Tinker.  David & Mary were the parents of two children:  (a) Elihu Huntley, married first, Mary Chappell, three children, Anne, William and Elihu, married second, Naomi Brockway, nine children, Gideon, Seth T., Jedediah Brockway, Sarah "Sally", Deborah, Mehitable, Baruch B., Barnabas Brockway and Alanson;  and (b) Mehitable Huntley, married first, Gamaliel Beebe, married second, James Robinson, seven children, Polly, James, two unnamed sons, two unnamed daughters and Betty.

ii.  LYDIA HUNTLEY, born about 1722, probably in Lyme, died 27 July 1811 in Norwich (New London) Connecticut.  She married 1 November 1747, James Backus, who was born 14 August 1703 in Norwich, and died there 15 October 1753, son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Huntington) Backus.  Lydia & James were the parents of five children:  (a) Joseph Backus(b) Mary Backus(c) Ezekiel Backus(d) Lois Backus;  and (e) Mary Backus, married James Malsor Camp.

iii.  ELIJAH HUNTLEY, born about 1723 in Lyme, died 20 November 1815 in Franklin (New London) Connecticut.  He married (as his first wife and as her second husband) 15 April 1752 in Norwich, Anna (Munsell) Downer, who was born there 12 October 1721, and died 24 April 1782, daughter of Elijah and Anna (Walbridge) Munsell, and widow of Edmund Downer.  Elijah & Anna were the parents of seven children:  (a) Ezekiel Huntley(b) Edmund Huntley, two children, Lydia and Edmund P.;  (c) Andrew Huntley, married Zelinda Bosworth, nine children, Lois, Clarissa, Anna, Andrew Munsell, Edmund Bosworth, Zelinda, Lorinda, Harriet and Alson;  (d) Calvin Huntley, married Eunice Guile, eight children, Joel, Polly, Sally, Gurdon, Louisa, Susan, Lydia and Henry G.;  (e) Lois Huntley(f) Luther Huntley, two daughters, Lydia and Betsey, married Eunice Lincoln;  and (g) Lydia Huntley.  Elijah married (as his second wife) after 24 April 1782 in Franklin, Zerviah Abbe, who was born about 1761 and died 19 November 1806 in Franklin, daughter of Isaac and Eunice (---) Abbe.  Elijah & Zerviah were the parents of five daughters:  (h) Eunice Huntley(i) Anna Huntley(j) Zerviah Huntley, married Joseph Conant;  (k) Lois Huntley;  and (l) Sarah Huntley.

vii.  MARY HUNTLEY, born before 23 September 1733 in Lyme.  She married 10 August 1757 in Lyme, Cyrus Lee, who was born there 26 February 1731/32, and died in 1806, son of William and Mary (Griffin) Lee.  Mary & Cyrus were the parents of eight children:  (a) Cyrus Lee, married Lucy Adsit;  (b) Elias Lee, married Rebecca (---);  (c) Molly Lee, married Simeon Blum;  (d) Lydia Lee, married John Valentine;  (e) William Lee, married Lydia Murdock;  (f) Lois Lee(g) Abigail Lee, married Richard Valentine;  and (h) Azubah Lee, married Jesse Ford.

TIM'S 8th-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS

3008.  Aaron Huntley, son of [6016] John and Jane (---) Huntley, was born 15 April 1654 in Boston (Suffolk) Massachusetts, and died 24 May 1742 in Lyme (New London) Connecticut.  He married 22 February 1675/76 in Lyme,

3009.  Mary Champion, who was born in 1651 in Saybrook (Middlesex) Connecticut and died 10 December 1732 in Lyme, daughter of [6018] Henry and Sarah (---) Champion.

Aaron was baptized at the age of three on 27 October 1657 in the First Church of Roxbury.  He came to Lyme (formed on 13 February 1665) with his father when he was 11 years old.  He served as a soldier in King Philip's War and had many occupations, including constable, fence viewer, lister, pound keeper, packer (of beef and pork), and surveyor.  After his father's death he built a house on land given to him by his father, and also helped his stepmother to manage his father's estate.

Aaron & Mary were the parents of eight children:

viii.  SOLOMON HUNTLEY, born 31 May 1691 in Lyme, died there 9 August 1712.  He married (as her first husband) 13 February 1710/11 in Lyme, Ruth Merrow, who was born 5 April 1693 in Reading (Middlesex) Massachusetts, daughter of Henry and Miriam (Brooks) Merrow.  Solomon & Ruth were the parents of one daughter:  (a) Mary Huntley, married Robert Latimer, four sons, Deming, Lemuel, Reuben and Robert.

TIM'S 9th-GREAT-GRANDPARENTS

6016.  John Huntley, was probably born on the British Isles sometime between 1622 and 1626, and died 16 November 1676 in Lyme (New London) Connecticut.  He married (as his second wife) about 1651,

6017.  Jane, who died before 1669 in Lyme.

John was a businessman, cooper and surveyor who was probably in America before 1647 and settled first in Roxbury, Massachusetts.  John married (as his first wife), Sarah (---), who died of small pox about 1650 in Boston (Suffolk) Massachusetts.  John & Sarah had no children.  In 1661 he moved to Connecticut Colony and was one of the 30 original settlers of Lyme, which was organized in February 1665.  He paid £100 for a 71 acre share in the new settlement.  John married (as his third wife) 3 June 1669 in New London (New London) Connecticut, Mary (Hand) Barnes, who died before 5 July 1687 in Lyme, daughter of John and Alice (Grandsen) Hand, and widow of Charles Barnes.  After his marriage to Mary, the New London County court fined John £10 for the conviction of fornication before marriage and adultery with Mary when she was still married to her first husband.  John & Mary were the parents of two daughters:  (a) Sarah Huntley;  and (b) Alice/Jane Huntley, married Beriah Dayton, nine children, Rachel, John, Maria, Martha, Beriah, Esther, Jeremiah, Jane and Mary.

On 12 March 1671/72 John participated in a public protest over the boundary line between Lyme and New London.  The opposing groups resorted to doing battle with sticks and staves and the incident became known as the New London-Lyme Riot.  John was elected selectman on Lyme on 9 February 1673/74.

Jane & John were the parents of four children:

i.  MOSES HUNTLEY, born 1 July 1652 in Boston, died about 1729 in Lyme.  He married 18 January 1680/81 in Lyme, Abigail (Chappell) Comstock, who was born 1 September 1644 in Wethersfield (Hartford) Connecticut, daughter of George and Christian (---) Chappell, and widow of John Comstock.  Moses & Abigail were the parents of three children:  (a) Moses Huntley, married Rachel Harris, six children, Jerusha, Benejah, Moses, Abigail, William and Jabez;  (b) Mary Huntley, married John Bennett, eight children, Samuel, Abigail, John, Jane, Mary, Sarah, Elijah and Jedediah;  and (c) John Huntley, married Susannah (DeWolf) Champion, two children, Mary and John.

ii.  AARON HUNTLEY  (3008)

iii.  ELIZABETH HUNTLEY, born before 27 October 1657 in Roxbury (Suffolk) Massachusetts, died 26 December 1741 in Groton (New London) Connecticut.  She married 28 May 1677, John Lewis, who died 9 May 1717, son of John and Sarah (---) Lewis.  Elizabeth & John were the parents of eight children:  (a) Moses Lewis, married Rachel Mortimer;  (b) Elizabeth Lewis, married first John Plumley, married second, Benjamin Lester, married third, William Latham:  (c) Mary Lewis, married Thomas Atwell;  (d) John Lewis, married Joanna Tillotson, one son, Eber;  (e) Sarah Lewis, married John Chappell;  (f) Samuel Lewis, married Rebecca (---);  (g) William Lewis, married Elizabeth Borden, seven children, Hannah, Joseph, Jane, Elizabeth, Borden, William and Ely;  and (h) Hannah Lewis, married William Waterhouse.

iv.  MARY HUNTLEY, born before 3 December 1660 in Roxbury.  She married 26 October 1685 in Lyme, John Smith, who was born about 1655 and died 16 September 1736 in Lyme, son of Richard and Joanna (Quarles) Smith.
